Developer studio Vertigo Games (known for Arizona Sunshine and Skyworld) has partnered with Vive Studios to develop a new VR multiplayer card game for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows VR Glasses and Vive Focus. Placed in the same universe as the previously released real-time strategy title, Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl is designed to enable multiplayer duels against other card game enthusiasts while providing cross-platform support.
Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl – VR card game with multiplayer and cross-platform support for PC glasses
When announcing new multiplayer card games, many gamers nowadays are more likely to roll their eyes instead of jumping enthusiastically from their chair. The market is quite saturated with games like Hearthstone, Magic: The Gathering or Artifact. But with Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl, the genre takes on a new dimension, with VR making tactical matches against other players an immersive experience.
The VR title puts players in up to 20 different battle arenas to compete against opponents in tactical competitions. For this you can create your own deck from a large number of cards and expand it with familiar troops, mythical creatures and spells. The different cards are to become freely playable within the game. More detailed information about the game mechanics or possible payment content has not yet been released.
However, cross-platform multiplayer allows you to challenge your friends anytime and score points for the global leaderboard. Even eSports enthusiasts should get their money, because the responsible developers promise regular tournaments. Incidentally, there is a clan system, which connects you with other players and opens the possibility of unique rewards.
Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl will officially launch on April 2 for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows VR Glasses and Vive Focus. A version for the Vive Focus Plus will follow at a later date. About a release for Oculus Quest and / or PlayStation VR (PSVR) is not yet known.
At the GDC 2019 more information about the upcoming title of the VR should be published.
