The console adaptation of the 3dRudder foot controller for PlayStation VR (PSVR) was originally scheduled to appear in April 2019. However, those responsible are now announcing that the publication will be postponed for several months. The input device will now be delivered in June 2019 for 120 euros.
3dRudder – PlayStation VR (PSVR) foot controller available from June 2019
The 3dRudder foot controller has long been available for PC glasses. As part of the CES 2019, the company then announced a version for the PlayStation VR (PSVR) and opened at the same time the pre-orders for the controller. Originally, the launch was announced for April 2019, but only for the US and Canada. Now there is news because the release has been postponed to June 2019. From 17 June, the international delivery of the device should begin.
The input device is used while sitting. Players place their feet on the controller to determine the direction within the VR by shifting their weight. Also running and sprinting movements with the feet are possible. This should create an intuitive feeling of movement in the VR. The controller is connected to the console via USB.
Different developer studios find positive words for using the input device. As a spokesman for Carbon Studios, the developer studio of The Wizards Enhanced Edition writes:
“The 3dRudder allows a freer, more precise and more intuitive control: not only keep your hands free, but also enable additional movement types.”
The official release will be over 25 different PSVR games compatible with the device. These include titles such as Sairento VR, Bow to Blood, The Wizards Enhanced Edition, Red Matter, Phone VR, Blind and many more. A detailed list can be found here.
The 3dRudder foot controller will be available worldwide from 17 June for 119 euros. The pre-orders are available on the official website of the company.
