Halo: Outpost Discovery – Halo exhibit including VR arcade experience in America
Halo: Outpost Discovery is touring the US this summer to bring the popular Halo Universe to life for its fans. In it, the visitors can learn the background to the history of the game series or exchange views with other players. But apart from Lore and Fandom, the entertainment aspect is the focus of the event.
So the organizers not only offer published game titles to star in, but also provide numerous immersive attractions. These include the VR arcade experience Halo: Training Grounds, which lets the players compete against each other in teams. In the role of a Spartan super soldier, three teammates come together to shoot down the opposing team of spies with laser weapons or pinwheels in a halo manner. The counterparties will be equipped with VRcade backpack PC systems and a HTC Vive Pro. This allows for absolute freedom of movement in the VR arena.
In addition to the VR experience, an interactive museum, the Hall of History, with numerous iconic monuments, vehicles and game elements is offered. There is also an escape room in the setting of a Convenant spaceship, a flight simulator and other entertainment attractions.
Whether the arcade experience will move into other VR arcades in the long term remains to be seen. This information could be expected at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, on which Microsoft is also represented.
The event Halo: Outpost Discovery takes place on the following weekends:
- 5th to 7th of July in Orlando
- July 19th to 21st in Philadelphia
- 2nd to 4th of August in Chicago
- August 16-18 in Houston
