The developer under the name NyanBlade created a tool that makes adding custom songs to Beat Saber for Oculus Quest a real trifle.
The tool contains step-by-step instructions that will help you in everything: from turning on the developer mode to integrating custom songs. The developer obviously made serious efforts to make the software so convenient that anyone could use it.
Custom songs should not be made specifically for Quest. Hundreds of songs already made for the PC VR version of available websites, such as Beat Saver, will work with this tool. This opens Beat Saber for new genres, popular artists and the latest pop songs.
Beat Games recently announced that the Quest version of the game will receive official support for custom songs for levels created with the new editor. While there is no news about how this will work, but the official decision may well be even easier to use.
On PC, Beat Saber has a long history of unofficial modding. However, Beat Games were careful with copyright and ethical issues around the opening of such a system. The majority of unofficial custom Beat Saber songs are unlicensed music usage. The company also expressed disappointment with the quality of the mods, which could lead to bad reviews about the game itself.
The PlayStation VR version of the game does not support user songs and does not have mods to enable them. However, it still remains a popular application, occupying a high place in the charts of the PlayStation Store. While custom songs improve Beat Saber, the game still perfectly satisfies user requests.
