ChromaGun has been available for PS4, PC and other platforms since 2017. Due to the high response from the community (the developers speak of a “massive flood of e-mails”), the puzzle title now also appears for the PlayStation VR (PSVR). Originally a release was planned at the end of 2018, but from tomorrow, the humorous VR game finally finds its way into the PlayStation Store after some obstacles.

So the VR implementation required one from the development team to get the game up and running in VR with a fluid 60 FPS. Due to some workarounds and adjustments, the official release is no longer in the way.

Instead of dynamic lights, the VR adaptation now calculates the lighting effects in advance to ensure optimal performance. However, this should graphically bring no disadvantage. Also on the color blocking particle fields, main menu and depth effects has been screwed to adjust the gaming experience and to improve the immersion.

Likewise, the size of some rooms was adjusted, but the gameplay should not make any noticeable changes. However, there is also no new content, because the responsible devs wanted to get the original ChromaGun experience.

For this one may resort to the controller on the Aim controller to use the iconic ChromaGun to solve the numerous puzzles. Within the game, you use said weapon to fire paintballs on doors, objects and work drones. Proper color mixing will attract the droids, triggering door opening mechanisms.

Your goal is to go through the research facilities with their different rooms and associated numerous puzzles.

ChromaGun VR will be available for PlayStation VR (PSVR) on the PlayStation Store from tomorrow, February 19th.
