BAFTA Games Awards 2019 – Astro Bot Rescue Mission nominated as Game of the Year 2019
Since 2004, the BAFTA Video Games Awards have independently awarded video game titles in various categories for special achievements. While the awards do not yet feature a selected category for VR titles, this year’s nomination came as a surprise as Sony’s successful platformer Astro Bot Rescue Mission was named Game of the Year 2019. In addition, the game comes to the award for Game Innovation and Game Design.
Astro Bot has already secured a place on the podium at the PlayStation Blog Awards and was awarded the # 2 Best PS VR Experience 2018.
In the Best Game category, it has to compete with the VR platformer. In addition to the cuddly bots, the games, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, Celeste and Return of the Obra Dinn nominated.

In it are found with Astro Bot and Moss even two representatives of the medium VR again, which must prevail against Celeste, Cultist Simulator, Nintendo Labo and Return of the Obra Dinn.
In the category Game Design the competition also consists of God of War, Celeste and Return of the Obra Dinn as well as Into the Breach and Minit. In the section Orignal Property is also the underwater adventure Subnautica again, which also competes against Moss and other candidates.
