Track your calories burned in your favorite YUR apps.

There are many titles in virtual reality (VR) that claim to be good for fitness, making you move and sweat. But for those who want to take the exercises a little more seriously and keep track of various statistics, including indicators such as calories burned, things get a little more complicated. More recently, VR fitness company YUR received $ 1.1 million for the development of this area.

VRcue first encountered YUR when the rhythm game Synth Riders added the built-in YUR.FIT game a few months ago. There was a couple of news from YUR this week. It’s not just about $ 1.1 million in pre-financing led by the Venture Reality Fund and BoostVC, but also in the beta release of the YUR app for Oculus Quest through Sidequest.

Created by Cix Liv and Dilan Shah, YUR uses proprietary software installed directly on the headset for calorie tracking to promote a healthy lifestyle. YUR also created a beta app for mobile devices so that users can track their activities outside of VR by syncing data with Apple Health and Google Fit.

“We created YUR to make fitness a game,” said Cix Liv, co-founder and CEO of YUR.

“Games and fitness have always been our biggest passions, and we believe that there is a growing community of people who want to combine these two passions.”

“YUR has an impressive founding team with strong roots in VR games and application development. We have already seen how the fitness community came together during the YUR beta phase, and we are interested in the future of the company in this growing market, ”adds Marco Demiros, co-founder and general partner of Venture Reality.

YUR, the fitness app for Oculus Quest, can essentially turn any headset video game into a fitness experience by tracking calories in any app. Ideally, YUR will be used in games like Beat Saber, which are very energetic but lack fitness information. For those who want to use VR applications for burning calories, titles like BoxVR are already available right now, while new ones like Viro Move will be available soon.
