A number of VR studios planning to release Oculus Quest games have confirmed the development of projects for stand-alone VR glasses.
Among them are the creators of VRChat, who have announced plans to release their iconic social application on Oculus Quest this spring.
VRChat is a social network that was originally intended for VR, but also spread to familiar screens during periods of explosive growth. Representatives of VRChat decided to explain the nature of the integration of the application into Oculus Quest. Some of the worlds that people visit in the app can be quite demanding, even for a VR Ready PC, so we’ll be interested to see how the company takes all of this to Quest.
“We have an important announcement. #VRChat will be released in the spring of 2019 on Oculus Quest! ”
Rec Room also announced plans for the Quest version and confirmed that support for cross-platform gameplay is planned for this game. Along with other selling VR games, such as Job Simulator, Facebook will introduce a line of games for its new virtual reality helmet, which definitely won’t make the owner of the novelty get bored.
Oculus Quest will be released this spring for about $ 400 (64 GB of memory). It is equipped with two controllers, completely devoid of wires and does not need a PC or phone to work. Another version with 128 GB of memory will be sold for $ 500. Facebook uses a more curatorial approach to content for Quest, than we could observe in a situation with virtual reality glasses for PC – Rift. The company, however, promised more than 50 applications for new products at the time of launch.
VRcue will continue to follow the latest news from the virtual reality industry.
