Since its announcement in 2017, Varjo has become one of the most talked about VR startups on the planet and has raised over $ 46 million. And now, after 20 months, the flagship VR headset of the Finnish company Varjo VR-1 is finally entering the market.
Say about the new VR-helmet can be quite a lot. This is undoubtedly the most highly accurate and advanced virtual reality headset on the planet at the moment. It uses a unique, patented technology that allows you to track with the accuracy of the human eye! At the same time, this is a modular system – the Varjo VR-1 will evolve with the growth of software and hardware technologies. However, the price is completely unrealistic for most ordinary customers – $ 5.995.
Even if we leave aside the filling of the VR helmet Varjo VR-1, the design is truly admirable. This is an art object in true Scandinavian style with a mirrored front panel.
“We wanted to create an uncompromising product,” said Urho Konttori, director of Varjo products.
According to Jussi Mäkinen, marketing director for Konttori and Varjo, VR-1 was originally conceived as a product that will be absolutely best in its class. No compromises in the use of cheaper materials or development – only premium class in everything. Unlike most similar headsets, the VR-1 is a corporate product that is not intended to enter the market. Its purpose is to use in architectural design, industrial design, design, healthcare, training, modeling, etc.
For the last 2 years, Varjo has worked directly with partners so that the VR-1 maximally meets their needs.
“One of the most important things in the development of the Varjo VR-1 was cooperation with pilot companies for early access,” said Mäkinen. “This allowed us to create the perfect VR product and Audi, Volkswagen, Saab and other major market leaders helped us with this.”
