In the framework of the round of financing, we managed to raise $ 1 million.
Founded in 2016, LIV was created as a tool for capturing video in mixed reality (MR) for developers and other content creators to film themselves in virtual reality (VR). Since then, the company has come a long way and is now on the verge of getting its software out of early access. Today, LIV Inc. announced a successful round of financing in the amount of $ 1 million, with some large investors supporting the company.
Based in Prague, LIV Inc. was supported by investors, among which were:
- co-founder of Oculus Palmer Lucky;
- Jaroslav Beck, CEO and Co-Founder, Beat Games (Beat Saber);
- early stage supported by VC Seedcamp;
- TechStars and Credo Ventures;
- HTC Vive and its accelerator, Vive X;
- Splitverse Chief Production Specialist.
LIV Inc. will use the investment to grow its core engineering team, to further develop its solution for video game developers, content creators and streamers. The software has been integrated into more than 150 experiences. In addition, the upcoming support for the Oculus Native SDK is on the way.
“We believe that VR is the ultimate computing platform. In a world where VR is the foundation, we need tools for creators and developers to share their experience in real time. In VR, your whole body is your controller, and we had to incorporate this human nuance into the viewer’s experience. We took VR from “must try to believe”, and attached it to something that you can watch on a 2D screen, still really understanding the magic of 6 degrees of freedom that VR offers, ”said LIV CEO and founder AJ Shewki in his statement.
“I created the Oculus Rift because I wanted to be able to transfer myself to virtual worlds. AJ and his team have taken the next step towards this goal by giving creators and developers the opportunity to present themselves and their avatars, as they wish, during live games and broadcasts. I like what they have already done and I am an investor, because I am so excited about what they will do next, ”said Palmer Lucky, the creator of Oculus Rift and the founder of Oculus.
Completely free and accessible through Steam, LIV 1.0 has already entered the stage of public beta testing on Steam, offering its latest feature – LIV avatars.
“We have some pioneers in our field in the team, and now they are supported by the people and companies that created VR, as we know it,” adds Shevki.
“Together we play a key role in shaping the future of the industry. Our set is moving further and further, and all our partners, developers and the audience are as excited as we are. We all are interested to see what will happen next. “
