As Ubisoft announces, Space Junkies, a jetpack arcade shooter developed exclusively for virtual reality, will be released on March 26 for PlayStation VR, Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. The game can now be pre-ordered on Steam and Oculus Home and on February 20 at the PlayStation Store.
Space Junkies on March 26 for PSVR and PCVR
We had to wait a long time, but now Space Junkies is supposed to appear. Already in June and September 2018 there were beta phases, but apparently one was not satisfied with the then state at Ubisoft. However, on March 23, the shooter wants to get off to a flying start.
The PSVR version of Space Junkies will use the traditional PS4 controller and will be released at the same time as the PC version.
“We’re more than thrilled with the Space Junkies launch and can not wait for players to jump into this rocket-propelled, laser gun-hero bonanza space,” said Adrian Lacey, producer at Ubisoft Montpellier. “The opportunity to release on PlayStation VR is great news for our players, and we’re considering adding support for additional headsets to make the Space Junkies experience even more accessible to people in the future.”
At launch, Space Junkies will feature 1v1, 2v2 and Free-for-All modes, as well as six different indoor and outdoor venues. We are curious if Ubisoft can meet the high expectations.
