Virtual reality has long been a part of Windows with the Windows Mixed Reality platform. Only naturally, the long process of penetration of technology into the market prevents it from becoming one of the main features of the operating system. Microsoft has taken a new step in the right direction in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18329.
The new early build of the system received the visualization function in the virtual and augmented reality of any applications on the 32-bit Win32 API. The window with the application interface will simply appear in your environment just as it does on the monitor. Previously, this mode was available only to specially adapted universal applications.
To use the new feature, go to the home environment of WMR, open the Pins Panel, go to all applications and find the folder “Classic Apps (Beta)”. From this folder you can select and run any Win32 application. Please keep in mind that the function is under development, so Microsoft does not guarantee the error-free operation of the software.
The date of the appearance of the function in a stable version of the system, as well as Win64 support, is not specified, but it will be a great achievement for the entire industry, considering the almost universal performance of BP users in Windows and the huge number of applications that will be available to them with this update.
Please note: Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18329 is available for download, but does not work in all languages. A detailed review of the assembly is available on the Microsoft blog.
