Google developed the VR180 Creator desktop tool for editing virtual reality video formats on macOS and Linux.
The Opportunities before you
The “Convert for Publishing” mode converts fisheye video from VR180 cameras to standard indirect projection. You can use Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar programs for editing.
“Preparing for publication” overwrites the VR180 metadata after editing so that the finished project can be viewed on YouTube or Google Photos in 2D or VR.
In April 2018, Google opened the VR180 format for developers. The platform was provided with documentation for working with projects and their further publication.
